I've lost you all for good

by Timothy   Feb 17, 2006

First Verse:
I'm sitting here alone on the steps, and it's been a lonely night,
I don't know how much longer I can play this game;
I told you I could be strong without you,
But life just isn't the same.

I thought I could find a greater pleasure,
I thought that you were my misery;
But the sun hasn't shined for so long....
And the pages are being erased from our history.

Chorus:
My memories unfold like an old, home movie,
I remember every flash, every frame;
You and I, and our boy, happy and so carefree,
A "white-picket-fence" dream so vibrantly aflame.

But, inevitably, the credits roll at the end of every show,
It's something I should have understood,
A real man doesn't walk out on his family....
And now I've lost you all for good.

Second Verse:
Where did we go so wrong?
What happened to that father that SHOWED that he loved his son?
I think you all knew long ago that I had divorced my own life,
And unfortunately this is my final lesson.

The beer just gets me stupid,
Hitting the wall, crying like a baby;
I've lost my son's admiring eyes and my wife's bedroom touch,
And now I wonder if even God can save me.

Repeat Chorus:
My memories unfold like an old, home movie,
I remember every flash, every frame;
You and I, and our boy, happy, and so carefree,
A "white-picket-fence" dream so vibrantly aflame.

But, inevitably, the credits run at the end of every show,
It's something that I should have understood;
A real man doesn't walk out on his family....
And now I have lost you all for good.
