To the strangers

by megan   Feb 17, 2006

I see faces, passing me every day,
I move to the side, getting out of their way,
They discard my face; its just a usual thing,
They dont feel the silence; they dont feel the sting,
I know youre out the somewhere, just looking for me,
You hold the future, you hold that key.

Strangers, passing me everywhere.
They walk on; dont see me staring there.
Im intrigued by their faces, intrigued by their smell,
One of you could be him, why dont you wish me well?
Im finally taking a look at the broken fears,
The ones the world has discarded for years.

The children are needy; they want to know more,
They stare at you, they dont wish to ignore,
But their faces develop, cracks will appear,
Suddenly the happiness fades, they become severe,
They become the adults, the anger and the hate,
Im just wishing, for a world of happiness for them to create,

Stranger, I dont know your name,
I dont know your story, I dont know your shame,
But I think you know what I want from you,
I want a love; I want you to love me true,
You see me staring, god why dont you stare back?
Stranger look at me, dont let my heart crack.

Im just a stranger in your eyes,
But soon Ill be the long-awaited prize,
Grab my hand and lets run away,
Away from the hate, the fear, the grey,

Strangers, you can walk on by,
But why doesnt one of you just wanna try?
Try and find a new person in me,
A person where I can truly be free.
