A Stained Face

by Elizabeth   Feb 17, 2006

I hear your laughter and it sounds so near. I turn my head and thrash in my sleep. Please someone stop my tears. Ive cried so hard and so long for too many years. I roll over and try to rid my head of your devilish smile, but the images keep coming. I hold myself so tightly my nails begin to draw blood. Your voice still taunts me replaying in my mind. I awake with a start to see your smiling face over mine.

Freedom -- I finally escaped you with a shattered heart. But that doesnt matter I found someone new and I\'ll tell you something hes nothing like you. He saved me from the pit of darkness and despair where you had left me. He does remind me of you. His eyes... his eyes are what caught me, just like yours had done so many years ago. But hes different... his touches are gentle and caressing; not hard and cruel like yours.
