Perhaps I wouldn't be alone,
Maybe it wouldn't be so dark,
It might be a little less cold,
I could of seen the light,
Had u been there.

Night time would be less freighting,
My night mares may have been shoved off,
I could have been protected,
My life may have been alright,
Had u been there.

Every secret u could of heard,
Listen to me spill out my words,
Wipe from my eyes hot streaming tears,
Never would I had the thought of dying,
Had u been there.

Muffled screams in my soul,
Could they have been let go?
In the future I might not of cut my skin,
Months later praying god to take me in,
Had u been there.

Pushing back my demons,
Keep them close inside,
Waiting for a chance of freedom,
Instead everyday I wear this chain,
U could of been my only friend,
Had u been there.
