You said you'd be here forever

by Latasha   Feb 18, 2006

You said you'd be here forever,
I know no one lives forever,
But I thought maybe in your case it would be different.
I seen you get weaker and weaker as days went by.
Your laugh made me believe nothing was wrong.
I remember how you spent hours talking on the telephone.
I remember how you always called me your special little angle.
Your voice has went faint.
I want to touch you even one last time.
Your tender skin,
Your soft lips,
Your gentle eyes.
You never closed your door on any one.
You smiled on days I thought it was merely impossible.
Now your gone,
And all I have is memories and old tattered photographs
I know you aren't in pain anymore,
But you caused your family lots of agony.
I wish you were here even just one more day,
So I could tell you I love you and how much I miss you.
One day I'll see you again.
My body will be carried up to yours,
And I'll be able to be there with you.

**dedicated to my grandma funk who i miss dearly...**
