It\'s all about him

by Tess Beautifully Broken   Feb 18, 2006

He treated her badly,
She didnâ??t know what to do,
She felt as if she was floating the ocean in a canoe.

She should break up with him,
Thatâ??s what her friends would say,
But when she tried to do this,
He had called her his baby,
His splash of pink on a backdrop of gray.

He said something that made her frown,
But then he treated her as if she deserved a crown,
He said he dearly loved her,
He said they were meant to be,
She couldnâ??t leave him,
How could she?

He said something perverted,
He never laughed at her jokes,
He couldnâ??t even find the words to comfort her when she cried,
But yet he could tell her he wanted to love her until he died.

Her heart was throbbing in pain,
Her head was banging with questions,
How come this had to be one of lifeâ??s many lessons?

They had nothing in common,
She dreamed of becoming famous,
He had no apparent plan for his life,
Her heart, she knew, was being cut with a knife.

He hung up on her so much,
It hurt her so bad,
He did it so many times,
This was going to drive her mad.

As her heart sank deeper,
His words made her weaker,
He was sucking her in,
This was part of his devilish plan,
Sooner or later he was going to become a man.

All he wanted was one thing,
For that she was sure,
All he wanted was to charm and allure.

She was hypnotized by his lies,
The good boy image he defies,
Why must he be so good?
Why couldnâ??t she dump him,
Like her friends had said she should?

Finally one day,
She woke up from her trance,
She found out that this was no romance.

She may have loved him so,
But she did what she thought was right,
She had said no.

He had chased her for a while,
But finally he gave up,
Now he was just to her a boy in her unwanted pile.

She had learned her lesson,
She was never again so blind,
Now she fell in love,
But this time she fell in love with a boy who had a mind.
