Blue eyes

With dignity I was entranced by eyes of blue,
Vulnerable, I thought you were a saviour in the dark
Beauty seen and held so delicately
I sensed purity
I felt a spark.

Looking for nothing but finding you and your eyes
In the sunlight, in the rain,
They sparkled like the stars in the sky
Confused but truly fascinated
I let go of pain.

It was more, devoured in your tranquillity
I felt a cure to each lonely night
The colour, consumed all thought,
Violated all reason
And nothing was ever right

Only those eyes were glamorous,
Deceitfully they showed perfection,
And you shun beauty only when needed
Otherwise nothing
I fell to obsession.

I was meaningless to you,
As soon as you could, you forgot,
Forgot that I gave you my time
When I thought you were real,
But you are not.

Those eyes, that colour remains
In the darkness it is all I see
Rare blue; precious blue
Endearing and honest
Like you will never be.

Blue eyes,
Torturous eyes.
