Dancing with the devil has never been great fun
I'd be better off burning beneath the golden sun
Strike at my arms with a new sound desire
Bleeding is life, that eternal fire

Downing shots to be a star
Sitting lonely next to the jukebox down the local bar
Back on the ward lying in the dark
Distant person from the one laughing in the park

Scars shine brightly from my precious body
Try to understand that I can never be like everybody
Shadows taunt me daily with new found inspiration
I sit in my own zone, stuck on nightime seclusion

Section 2 bound me by the mental health law
Kept me safe, kept me away from people, locked behind doors
Realise that the new days are never coming to you
That everything will stay the same, nothing perfect, nothing new

This pain will last forever, but hidden behind closed doors
This pain will never end, but at least I am secure....
