Broken

by Kiki   Feb 19, 2006

Sitting in this tiny room,
I hear the echoes of our battles,
Lost and wounded, I was always left,
Curled up in the corner,
Near our ghostly bed.

I sit and wait,
For the call that never comes,
Thoughts running through my head,
Love and affection,
Once there, now dead.

You found me,
Right before I hit rock bottom,
Like a dream collided with reality,
Hidden behind a veil of secrecy,
And we thought it'd come so easily!

But as usual,
Nothing's ever as it seems to be,
Are you ready to love me?
"Yes" you said so valiantly,
You deceived me!

My life went out of focus,
So cruel to play it proud,
It hurts so bad to deny it,
My feelings are out of control,
And I can't take it!

I'm in too deep,
I carry the weight,
Like an old ball and chain.
Why's my heart making a fool out of me?
Love just causes pain.
