First Year

A year ago it started,
My feelings grew like a flame
I really wanted to tell you,
But feared you would not think the same

We sat, talking, in our group
But I stared quietly at your face
I thought about a possible future
And my heart began to race

Sitting around after school,
Wondering what the hell I could do
I asked if your night was free
So I could spend some time with you

We sat on the stairs,
Really talking about nothing
The more time we were there,
The more I kept on blushing

My lips met yours midway,
We became one in that kiss
I sat there, unbelieving,
In a new-found state of bliss

And now, a year later,
I still feel your lips on mine
I have loved you ever since
We met for the very first time

This relationship has not been easy,
I have caused it to be quite hard
But just know that my love for you
comes from the deepest depths of my heart

As I loved you before
One year has passed,
