Searching For Happiness

by Tonyel   Feb 20, 2006

When you looked for happiness, you searched around the room,
To see who was there, to bring you cheer, to make a smile bloom.

You expected to find your happiness, from the next person in your game,
But if you were still sad, that made you mad, and that person got the blame.

Why didn't he bring me happiness, why couldn't he bring me cheer?
Must be his way, and the things he'd say, so get him out of here.

And then you met me that day, I must have been the one.
I'll be the boy, that brings you joy, and we'll have so much fun.

But then you looked at the two of us, and happiness was still not found.
You showed me the door, and we were no more, now I was not around.

I couldn't make you happy, no, that became clear to see.
All I wanted to do, was give my love to you, and have you marry me.

Now that those days are over, that beautiful relationship died.
But you still don't see, that it wasn't me, happiness must be found inside.
