She will always remember

by Dominique   Feb 20, 2006

She cries herself to sleep at night, she hides the pain she bears.

she dreads the day she hears his feet, comming up the stairs.

his voice is loud and angry, his attitude has changed.

she doesnt know what she did this time, but something still remains.

a cut or bruise here or there, "its nothing" she explains,"my dad just lost his temper again, im the one to blame"

but secretly she dreads the day he comes home with his temper, and hurts her worse then a cut or bruise, on this sweet september.

a broken nose, a broken wrist, it just keeps getting worse, and pretty soon she starts to think, this has become her curse.

a curse that no child should bear, you see my friend, it isnt fair.

she takes the beatings day by day, and soon enough she doesnt want to stay.

then one day her dad came home and gave a beating quite untold.

And on her toumb we engrave, "this girl we will always rememeber"
