Staring through blind eyes.

by Jacob M Parnell   Feb 21, 2006

Staring through blind eyes.
At a world that is so cold.
I can feel hearts break.
I can hear emotions mold.
With every single death.
A new story is told.

One mans dream.
One prosperous will.
Becomes another mans nightmare.
His provocative chill.
Which drives men insane.
Will even drive one to kill.

One man murdered in envy.
Another murdered in sin.
The powerful asleep.
The homeless drinking gin.
No one taking the time.
To realize what lies within.

That every man.
Can become his wildest desire.
Thoughts driven with sin.
Seduction feeds the fire.
Doing anything it takes.
To make his income higher.

With each laugh.
Comes one scream.
We did this.
We developed the scheme.
We've created this world.
The great "American Dream".

Even I realize the problems.
I live in this routine.
A world so cold.
I'm only sixteen.
But what can I do.
I'm only a teen.

So we have to clean the world.
Were all stuck.
Even staring through blind eyes.
Anyone can see this sucks.
So look at the future.
F**k...

I really, really like this. The ending was humrous in a sense just like the rest of the world... a really sad joke. Excellent job, I'm super surprised this poem doesn't have more comments or votes, cause it's AWESOME!
