Remembrance

by Hilary   Feb 21, 2006

Glances from across the room
Kisses from afar...
Tears hidden behind these deep brown eyes;
Whispers of a broken heart.
How do I acknowledge these feelings
Without showing you my pain?
I thought this could mean more
But I guess I loved in vain.
I'm not sure just where I turned
That made this journey wrong...
But no matter what happened,
I loved you all along.
I held you close; I kissed your lips,
I let you see past my eyes...
But in the end, I face the hardship
Of having to say goodbye.
I hope you hold deep inside
The memories I shared with you...
And I hope you know how much they meant,
Although they were so few.
In your darkest moments,
Let my memory be your light...
Smile when you fall asleep,
For you're in my prayers each night...
And when life gets you down
And it comes to push and shove...
Find some inspiration,
In the remembrance of my love.
