A Dad and his Daughter

by Geoff Clemence   Feb 21, 2006

I wish I had you Madison
Here w/ me every day
To see you come in through my door
And know that forever you could stay
It seems so long each time I see
That twinkle in your eyes
And the gorgeous smile when you see my face
It always makes me cry
You drop your bags and you run at me
And you leap into my arms
You wrap so tight around me
Knowing you could never be harmed
You say hello daddy
And you kiss my cheek thats wet
Then you look deep in my eyes
A look I never could forget
We spend our day close side by side
Nothing could ever come between
You tell me about your school and friends
And the places that you've been
Down on the beech we sit and eat
Hot chips down on the sand
And you laugh so hard as you see me chase
The seagulls in demand
At night I tuck you in and kiss
Your sweet lips puckered tight
And you say I love you daddy
And I'll dream of you all night...

    This made me cry.
Why couldn't my dad feel this way or write me something like this?
Instead this is what I made for him:
