Friendly Fire

by Michael D Nalley   Feb 22, 2006

Of all the blunders that could transpire
None more deadly than friendly fire
Could break the heart of those who know
The one they killed was not their foe

In battle, soldiers struggle for breath
A mistake can cause an untimely death
Anything at all can happen when
The ranking officers lead their men

In confusion many have died
From a bullet from the other side
Coordinates and Communication
Battle plans and organization

From Judas priest in Gethsemane
We must identify the enemy
Of all the blunders that could transpire
None more deadly than friendly fire

I liked the meaning behind this one. the second stanza didn't flow as well as it could with the others to me but it was still very good.
