The Cave

by Bill Turner   Feb 23, 2006

Walls dripping and cold
Puddles growing at my feet
Trickle of tears upon my cheek
Adding to the river of my heart
Crying not for the end, but the start

Air is chill and forever blowing
Driven from the emptiness
Sweeping through my soul
Pouring out of my life
Taking with it all my strife

Deep in the recesses of the cave
Burns a fire hot and bright
Warming me to the depths of my soul
Some lessons I will never learn
The fire of love can burn

Etched into the stone of my heart
A message that needs no translation
Forever changing my life
Your love documented for all to see
Promising love for all eternity

The cave of my life
No longer dimly lit
Light shining from within
Burning with passion for all you do
Wanting to share my life with you

I vote you shouldn't make me cry. It's not fair! Anyway, there's nothing I can say that I haven't said already. Stunningly beautiful!
