I Just Can't Have You

by 100Percent_inlove   Feb 23, 2006

I sleep with tears in my eyes,
But in the morning I have to put my mask on.
I'm screaming at the top of my lungs,
Yet no one notices or even blinks.

Everyone is a predator
Just waiting impatiently to attack.
And if I make a wrong move,
My world plunges into darkness.

If only you knew how much I love you.
How much my skin desires your touch.
And how hungry my lips are for yours.
Yet- I just can't have you.

I could have sworn your eyes told me the same.
That time I could almost smell your breath.
Only in my dreams do you kiss me
And in fantasies you admit your love.

I know I am not beautiful,
But gosh do I love you.
Being so close, I can just tell you this.
Yet- I just can't have you.

I am born every morning feeling my painful love,
And die every night without your love.
Only to be born with a mask once again.
Yet- I just can't have you.
