I ran
ran till I could no longer lift my leg
till my muscles burned
I stopped
hot tears stung my eyes
gently rolling over my cheeks
slowly dripping
only to fall to the ground
dirt and rocks at my feet
hunched over with hands on my knees
everything standing still
except for the constant
slow tear
I want to die
nothing left to do
but cry
the tears just coming
I can't stop them
I want this to be over
I start running
feet pounding on the rocks
the sun is down
darkness shadows the earth
this isn't how life should be
I want it to be done
no more pain
