True Colors

by Talauna Norwood   Feb 24, 2006

As I think of the magazines precise description of Tru Beauty

Another of the Gov's neglected duties

Not paying attention to the images we're forced to see

and the choices made because of these images I can

only take to a tolerable degree

the anorexic boys and girls blinded by a simple illustration

and who's to blame besides the nation

I can withstand the judgment upon me

but i can't and won't acknowledge the picture of

beauty being concrete

ultimately viewing the world, i see gray

not black or white and others should see the world on

the same display

but gray, so stereotyped and man made

also a picture added to the masquerade

reality? the world's color is a dye

mixed in a bottle only meant to supply
