My Angel

by Timothy S   Feb 24, 2006

Let me tell you this story, of a boy I used to know
He had a great childhood and environment to grow
Was molded into a warm, caring, loving soul
But where he lived, was caged in, no room to unfold
So, no way he could fly, nor his wings to even be shown
But he held a halo under his hood, so he always wore a coat
Everyone always asked him "Are you always cold?"
He'd smile and answer yes, with a little lump in his throat
He knew if the truth leaked, he'd have to live like a mole
Away from paparazzi, and the world he'd grown to know
How he'd walk everyday with normal people, felt in control
Made everyone believe he was human, but his secret untold
That he was born an angel, but no one knew, he was all alone
But he's been grounded so long, his beautiful wings, were broke
Been caged all along, now walking is all that he knows
Oblivious to the fact that he's gifted, he's grown so old
That when he tried to fly on that last day
His body collapsed, and his brother took him home
Back to where he can live to his potential
And finally, see his wings and halo, fully grown
My angel's suicide freed me. Please let me go
