Not Everything I Seem

by Jemma   Feb 24, 2006

I am not everything I seem
Sometimes you have to look deeper to see who someone really is.
It makes you a wonderful judge of character
If you can look someone in the eye and see their heart.

Imagine that a pool of thought, emotion and life rests deep within,
Something that could light up the world
If only one person could harness the deep well of power and love
That rests, waiting, within every one of us

Many have an icy barrier, thinking they're protected from love's turns of its tide.
In truth, they do not lock out anything other than their own happiness
For that untamed energy has yet to be released, trapped within their heart.

Only one person can let loose the unseen strength,
Only one.

Try to see beyond my eyes,
Search for that pure, untainted presence and you shall see me for who I am,
Someone that I can try to hide but never change
For it shall always be there, waiting, waiting for someone to find it,
For you to find it
I hope you will
