Shadows

by Jess   Feb 24, 2006

My shadow hangs over the ground
Never leaving my heels
like those memories that follow you through life
You wish they would leave but they don't seem to go
The bad one's linger and the good one's stay or fade

They follow until there is no more light
Like the black cat that disappears into the night
I walk and wonder with every step I take
Wondering if I made the best choice in what I did

I stop and look at myself in the window
the shadow stands still as if time had paused
I look at the other shadows that never leave the heels of those who walk in the place I stand

I walk again while the shadow disappears into the night
until the sun comes out once more
it will hide in the darkness waiting for my heels to follow one more day

I would really appreciate it if yo would write a comment on my poem just so I know what to do differently next time Thanks

It has a good idea to it, I think you should add more inbetween the first and second stanza though, I would have enjoyed it a lot more then.

But good job on those two small stanzas. ^_^
