Nothing

by kacey   Feb 25, 2006

I fear death not.
only the pain that it brings.
i do not fear for the end of my life.
only for yours.
i dread the day upon which you sha'll draw your final breath.
your warm body sha'll grow cold with the mark of death.
the light in your eyes fades.
as does the light in my heart.
you have become a mere memory.
a time in the past for which i eternally long for.
for the love of you fueled my life.
and how sha'l i live if there is nothing.
nothing to burn on..
nothing to burn for.

i read this poem to my mom at her funeral..

i miss and love you mom. more then anything in the world!
