I heard the anguished cry,
And ran to see what I could do,
I came across a crumpled figure,
A beautifully broken you.
I extended my hand,
But you reached for my heart,
I then tripped and fell,
And thus, you and I came to a start.
The dark skies cleared,
My heart pumped warm,
And there beside me was you,
Protecting me from any storm.
The sunshine reigned,
My vision was flooded with doves,
And every breath we took,
Was filled with our love.
My faith was strong,
But I needed proof,
That you were truly real,
And my answer came to me on your roof.
You took my shaking hand,
And kissed it so gently,
Told me not to worry,
Said you loved me fervently.
I heard there was a secret,
To making love great,
I read all the books,
But I guess to learn the lesson I was too late.
Turns out the storm was hiding,
Behind a well placed smile,
And to get bored with me,
Only took a short while.
You tied me to your soul,
And your beauty still over threw me,
You broke my heart and ripped my soul,
And still I whispered, 'Whatever makes you happy.'
I've been here before,
I know this story,
I've played my part,
Witnessed grief and glory.
There was a time when you let me know,
Just what was going on,
Now you never show me that,
You're standing by me, but you're so far gone.
The blood-red sky now mocks me,
As I hear your cry at night,
A cry I mistook for pain,
Not someone who's seen the light.
Love is not a precious thing,
It's just something to pass time,
Guys don't really give their hearts,
Too bad I gave you mine.
I watch the stars and see your face,
Laughing on your golden throne.
You breathe into my ear,
And then Im all alone.
I look into my cracked mirror,
And a whisper comes out from the mouth of a stranger,
I lean closer and then I hear it;
It's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah.
*I know it doesnt make much sense but if you could comment it would still mean alot. thank you all.*
