Tonight was the night I had wanted to experience for ever
I had always heard of the moments that people have seen the light
Tonight would play the stage for my drivers test clever
We were speeding not reading with road sight
I was doing over 60 in a ninety degree curve
When my Taurus decides to swerve
A curious thought as death was farthest from my head
For the first night in a long time I was out of my sickly bed
But if that taught me any thing it taught me this
The light I saw was nothing to dismiss
The light I saw was a dark back yard and two children
Unaware of the life to which they had just promised to attend
Maybe it was this or just the headlights on my car
But one thing is for sure for that split second you werenâ??t so far
I saw my heaven as I spoke of before
And it all stared with a closed wooden door
And all it took to bring this back was a spinning car
And for that split second you werenâ??t so far
I hope you never have such an experience
Not just for one trip through that fence
But I hope sometimes you think of me
With every star you see
