Nothing To Fear

by Bill Turner   Feb 27, 2006

Feeling the tears roll down your face
I could the see the fear in your eyes
Smile for those tears were out of place
My love for you should come as no surprise

Although I am unworthy of you in my life
Deserving so little for the things I have done
If you will have me, I intend to make you my wife
When the time is right, our glorious day in the sun

I will not walk away from your wonderful love
Mistakes from my past forever gone are they
Our love is free, soaring, a pure white dove
Gliding upon the wind, free, like us today

Your tears mixed with the sand of my life
Slippery and unstable it has been for so long
No footing and a history of heartfelt strife
Becoming concrete - so very firm and strong

Chase away those tears knock off that crying
Smile for sunshine and love are here
Despite my illustrious history I am trying
I promise you have nothing to fear

I will always be by your side
Holding your hand in mine
My heart swelling with pride
Everything a Southern fine

You write with such sincerity and honesty, and those are two things that aren't that common nowadays. And your words have so much feeling in them! You are truly one of the great ones, Bill.
