Danced Anyway

by Katelyn   Feb 28, 2006

The mood wasn't right
People were going insane
On that starry night

I was with you
And the rest of the world
Just waiting to see if the stories were true

The air became crowded
And people wanted to sleep
You led me outside to where it was uncrowded

We found a lonely bench to rest our sores
You held me close and looked at disaster
I syncopated my breathing to yours

Nothing matters but us
Love can rebuild our wings to fly
With faith, trust, and pixie dust

I looked at you and our smiles say
I can see the stars reflect in your eyes
Even in the heart of tragedy,
we danced anyway
