I feel a dark empty void inside of me,
which is where my emotions should be.
Hate is just a useless thing,
there's nothing good it can bring.
Bitterness will turn you cold,
then you die alone and old.
Rage will roar to a burning fire,
but, then you'll burn up on the pyre.
Jealousy is one everyone should quite,
what does someone else have that you can't get?
Depression is also a useless thing,
sooner or later you get back in the swing.
Hope's a bad choice cause it can make you or break,
which is a bad break when your sanity is at stake.
Joy's not bad in its own way,
but you can never make it stay.
Happiness is one people like so much,
then Depression destroys it with a touch.
Surprise is one that works both ends,
it could bring foes or could bring friends.
Then there's Love the one and all,
it makes city's shake, and mountains fall.
For every good deed done for love's sake,
there are twice as many things love's used to break.
And Emptiness itself is an emotion to choose,
you won't get a chance to win, but you'll never lose.
