Birth Of The Cool

by Tim Fleckney   Feb 28, 2006

Neon flashing lights
hot sullen
guitar licks
sweat slicked bodies
gyrate in
frenzied passion

chrome plated
nymphs
dispensing liquid dreams
and chemical screams

zombies line
the block
praying for entrance

well-toned black men
grant favor
to the chosen few
with a not so
subtle warning

beware
it's the birth
of the cool

Alright, maybe I understand some parts of it now.

Maybe I'm a bit warped after just finishing reading Marilyn Manson's autobiography (The Long Hard Road Out OF Hell) but this poem is genious. I can actually pick a few things out of it, anywhere from society promoting sex as the new cool to the mindwashed drug dependent sychophants looking for their fix. This, to me, actually is very well written and I love it, I shall be reading it again. Amazing poem!

I don't really know what this is about, I got a little lost, so this time there wasn't imagery, haha. Anyways, it's cool, I like how you wored things, the flow could be a litte weird at sometimes because I didn't really know what I was reading..good write.
