The Memories

Last night I looked through my album and all the memories arose.
The time of love and laughter is what my tears had showed.
Each tear that had fallen told a story of different times.
When each day I was yours and you were mine.
Then the tears of sadness fell from my eyes.
The troubles that pertained followed by sighs.
Each tear that had fallen told a story of different times.
When each day you gave me an awful new sign.
The phone calls lessened and you stopped coming around.
Then the news came from a note I had found.
"My dearest love we are in too deep.
I am sorry for this pain, please don't weep.
I have been thinking about this more than you know.
I don't love you as much and it probably shows.
We lost that fire that use to burn.
Now it is just ashes put away in an urn.
There will always be love in my heart for you.
But I don't feel the same, I'm sorry but true."
I taped that note in the back of my book.
So when I thought about you I could turn back and look.
You taught me a lesson that life's not always fair.
But i will always love you and I will always care.
