Match, Point

by Kaitlin Kristina   Feb 28, 2006

Match point.
One, One.
Yet no one will.
This game is lost, despite cunning skill.
We both presumed the upper hand,
The Great Wall fell like shifting sand.
Defenses up, useless now.
We both lost track, out should bow.
We\'re both smart people.
We both are strong.
We both met our match,
Point beat to the ground.
We stand even, stare you down.
Stare me back. Let silence resound.
You thought you had me at goodbye.
I had you, first glance, don\'t dare lie.
I wanted you, I bed you down,
We indulge the other and gift a crown.
Both of us pretending the other felt more.
Calling out \"lover\" while thinking \"worhe.\"

I loved the last two lines.
    Your comparison was incredible.
The words you chose to portray such a brilliant picture were quite impressive.
