Fire and Ice

by Lauren G.   Mar 1, 2006

Fire
Burning, Glowing
Flames embracing the wind
Curling upward, Licking the air
With intense heat
Hot, sizzling
Blazing, flickering
Dancing and frolicking
Vitality never ending until
The embers breath no more
White-orange light fades to ..black
Cold, Silent
Delicate flakes of pure snow
Patterns fragile and intricate
Tumble and fall softly
With motionless beauty
Serene, Placid
Pieces slowly come together
Tediously forming crystaline designs
Hardening to become
Frigid, Frosty
Thick, clear
Ice
