She's my Light

by Levi   Mar 1, 2006

I close my eyes,
Yet I can not sleep.
I feel empty on the inside,
What is wrong with me?
Searching for the reason,
but I don't understand.
Why is this happening?
Why am I empty and sad?

It's tearing me apart,
I sit alone in the dark.
Darkness I can only see,
I need a light to set me free.

Footsteps come,
Who are they from?
She appears, a beaming light.
Taking my hand she leads me right.

The emptiness going,
The pain no longer showing.
My life she saved.
My light she became.
Because of her I am complete.

The ending just seems a bit rushed where it could have been so full of detail. Good effort because it's hard to write a love poem of any kind. 4/5

When you said I wouldn't regret reading this (which I don't) I thought it would be something so outstanding that I would be speechless...and as you can see I'm still talking.
This was ok, an average poem really. Nothing really "new" but the flow was good and the beginning few lines I really liked. The ending was rather sudden though and it felt like there were something missing.
    Touching poem nonetheless.
