Battered and Broken

Ragged seams torn open
Gnarled and mangled
Trampled all over
Twisted and tangled

Beyond recognition
So used and abused
Battered and broken
Doomed to lose

Hacked away by anger,
Slashed by pain
Happiness and love
It can never regain

Hanging by hinges
The very last thread
Cut by misfortune
Bloods no longer bled

A growing empty void
