Love Me Not

by MethodtotheMadness   Mar 2, 2006

Ever so happy
She's held in his arms
Feeling so safe
Protected from harm
The only one she trusts
Her only place to confide
She gives him all she's got
From him she doesn't hide
She loves him unconditionally
His every little sin
The way he smiles at her
His teasing little grin
Never happier than when she's with him
In his warm embrace
She loves the way he kisses her
The way that his mouth tastes
"I love you," she says
The words dance across her lips
As she caresses his skin
Gently with her fingertips
When the word are not returned
She feels her insides tear
As his eyes meet hers
With nothing but a blank stare
"No..." she cries out softly
As he turns away
She's hurt by what she senses
She knows he will not stay
Crying she stares up
At this boy she so adores
"I'm sorry," he says "I love you,
but I love her more."
