You say that you don't love me
those words cut me like a knife
You say you don't want to be with me
now or for the rest of your life

You say that you don't think of me
at night when you go to bed
And as you wake in the morning
thoughts of me aren't in your head

You say I should find someone
who will miss me when apart
But that person is no longer you
you don't feel it in your heart

You say you are not the one
who longs to hear my voice
And waiting to see my face
is not your loving choice

But,

You say you don't want to be
enemies or estranged
This is all so hard to believe
that we were once engaged

You say that you will do for me
anything that I might need
And you wish only good things for me
a shallow wish indeed

for creating all this hurt
But by saying all the things you've said
