Accident

by Caty   Mar 4, 2006

I didn't know.
This is how it would go.
The night was going so great.
But it led to such a horrible fate.
It happened so fast.
Why can nothing good last?
I'm losing blood.
Lying prostrate in the mud.
I'm losing my sight.
But I see a red light.
I can hear voices.
And unusual noises.
My life was saved.
But my world has caved.
I'm filled with sorrow.
And I fear tomorrow.
I'm so sorry.
It was a sad story.
Why did she have to die?
Why wasn't it my last goodbye?
I now can see.
The tears of the family.
I want to turn away.
Wish I could go back a day.
But she's not coming back.
Not after that terrible smack.
I didn't mean too.
Booze aren't something new.
But even the best.
Can accidentally hurt like the rest.
I guess I didn't think.
When I chose to drive and drink.
