The friend who didnt have to be

by IlliteracyKills   Mar 5, 2006

I spend another endless night, crying in my pillow. People claim to understand me, no one ever will tho. Broken pieces of the girl I used to be Now lie on the floor, for everyone to see. I try to reach for help, but no one seems to care. I search for a friend to love me, no ones ever there. But ever since I met you, the fear of losing hope is gone. I sit thru these sleepless nights, knowing there will be a dawn. Your always there, to guide me thru the fog so I can see. And so I say I love you, to the friend who didn't have to be.

Oh man, this poem is really good, it really touched me, like really, i can relate, i've had friends that turned their backs on me, let me down, lied to me, anything you can think of, and i never really had a "true" friend, and all the people that were there never had to be and those are the ones i care for most, we your poem is really touching to me and i've never read any poem that's similar to it, 5/5 good job.
