Smile

by Rachelle   Mar 6, 2006

They say I laugh, they say I smile,
but what happens in between and all the while?
The joker gets hurt, who is there to help?
They don't see the cries, the scream, or the yelp.
Behind the face is sadness,
but smiles won't let out madness.
They see me giggle, they see me grin.
Who knows but me, that I never win.
The battle of depression, it's hard, it's rough.
Whoever endures this has to be tough.
They say to me it will be alright.
Then why don’t they stick up and face my fight.
