Caught the gleam in your eye
as i gazed upon your face
started struggling to breathe
and my heart began to race

then you spoke your soft voice
it seemed to echo in my ears
my knees became so weak
which hadn't happened for many years

i was in a bit of a day dream
i had to ask you what you'd said
you turned to me and replied
'i think somethings landed on your head'

so i raised my hand to see
and found bird sh*t in my hair
'this shit always happens to me'
how can life be so unfair

she laughed as i feel silent
she said 'it happens to us all
after you've got cleaned up
maybe you'd like to give me a call?'

couldn't believe what had happened
being ask out on a date
with bird sh*t in my hair
i was looking quite a state

but over ten years later
and we're happily still together
with two handsome boys
who are like birds of the feather

its just goes to show you
although embarrassment may occur
there still a perfect chance
you'll spend your life with him or her
