When the battle is over

A big fear has happened to me
Just like I knew it would
I have been contemplating this whole week
Whether this is bad or good

I knew I’d get so close to someone
As close as a best friend
Years of happiness and memories
Then all of it would end

I just didn’t expect so soon
These are the years I need you most
If I knew it was going to go down like this
I wouldn’t have become so close

This battle just can’t be over
I don’t want to give up yet
Don’t you know it was only three years?
In August when we met

I just want this to be over
Pointless “silent treatments” to me
I want to fall over and cry
As if you put a knife to my knees

If you want to hear “I’m sorry”
Please, explain what I did!
I just don’t understand what happened
You’re playing games like a little kid

I miss knowing I made you laugh
I don’t know what to do
To get your permission
To allow me to talk to you

I act like I don’t care anymore
But if you could only see my heart
The corners are turning black
And the middle is starting to part

If you could only see my tears
That stream down my face
My shirt is all mascara stained
And so is my pillowcase

When all this is over with
If I have to move on and forget
Not hugging you one last time
Would be my only regret

    Awww Chels my baby girl , I can feel your heartache throughout this entire piece . I only wish I was there with you . We could eat ice cream and talk for hours .It hurts me so much knowing how sad you are .

    I don't know hun ....maybe it is time to make a move and start a conversation....I don't know.....

    I know who this be about :o( Have you showed her girl? Have you told her you feel this way seriously...I think you shoud try you owe to yourself to her and to your friendship to at least be honest about how you feel. I have no doubt at all that she misses you as much as you miss her - and in reality babygurl thats what friends are for. We all have our ups and downs but its really about the love felt and how we come together when we need each other the most true?
