True loneliness

by Devin   Mar 7, 2006

If I was in the middle of the desert
with no one to touch or speak to
most would call it loneliness

That is a loneliness I could bear.

For what would you call it when
you are loved by your family,
you laugh with a few friends,
and you walk among hundreds of
people everyday and yet you feel alone and distant?

It is like seeing life through a glass.
You try to laugh and love as they do
but as much as you want to, it is something you cannot feel.

For that is true loneliness.
