Flickering Light

by Devin   Mar 7, 2006

A light flickers and the light begins to fade.

A promise I remember
Study good, be good
and everything will be ok.
So I walked along the path

Broken dreams and a
beaten will is all that remains.
My path I can no longer see ahead, it grows darker and colder
as I go step by step.

Shadows accompany me, memories of all the good things lost.
I hear whispers and my eyes fill with tears.
I don’t want to walk anymore; the darkness does not seem to end.

I am sorry that I could not make you proud.
I am sorry that I am wasted potential
But sadness and hate overtook me
And I somehow became lost.

To where this path will lead I do not know.
But to Shadows I will surely go.
