My Bane

by VJstorm   Mar 7, 2006

You were an Angel, of that I am sure,
Sent to stand by me and find me a cure
Instead of being a little bit slanted,
All I did was take you for granted,
And went on to lie and cheat and also become disenchanted.

I did not’t see where I was heading,
But carried on the dangerous path that I treading
And even though you told me what U were dreading
It was like I willed my own beheading.
To silence the world and their sledding.

It was like heading to battle with a putty knife
To fight off all my anguish, grief, and strive
When all I had to do was go to my battle-hardened wife.

As I rode head-on into the morning dawn,
Little more did I do then let out a yawn
But as the dust settles down on what is left of my life
I look back to see what could have become of me
Cause from where I am to where I could be with U
Now looks like the road from here to eternity.
