All i ever wanted you to do,
was just hold me.
I never thought the day would come,
that you would just up and leave.
I thought you loved me,
or so you made me believe.
I gave you all my love,
then you broke my heart.
I never knew when you lied,
boy, i guess i wasn't smart.
No matter what you did,
i always came back to you.
I thought we'd always be together,
but you just left me out of the blue.
My heart still aches,
when i am alone.
Just like the wind,
i guess our love has blown.
As the days pass,
i heal a little more.
And soon i find.
i no longer mourn.
Eventually i find myself,
smiling and laughing.
Even in the streets,
as you pass me.
As the days and even years pass,
i know i'll always love you.
Even if i find someone,
totally new.
I hope you still think about me,
and all the pain you brought.
And i hope you find the love,
that you left me and sought.
I know that one day,
i will love again.
But from you,
i learned not to depend.
I will never again need a man,
to be fulfilled.
I learned to love myself,
that way my heart cannot be killed.
