May I Come Back as a Cat

by MShadowsWhisper   Mar 7, 2006

Time travels softly
slowly soaring
pattering lightly
upon eternitys door.

One stroke of a feather
brings one wing then the other
raiding and invading
into the small house of my soul.

Boards creek
bending beneath
shadows on the wall following the beak
storms brewing in silent sheath,

as I move from the dim haze
the one that surrounds me
during the days
keeping everyones gaze from seeing me.

Stepping lightly
I stare upon
the rasping talons
of immortality.

Grimly I
raise my face
towards the fiery glare,
fighting the internal struggle just to stay there.

A harsh call
brings me to my knees
as my death rushes gently from me
soft as a warm summer breeze.

Released,
Relieved,
Once again,
Im born anew.

I thought this was a very well expressed poem, the imagery was really clear and I enjoyed reading it very much.
    Well done,
