A vampires sorrow

by ShadowDancer   Mar 7, 2006

I sit here alone atop a hill
I contemplate my sure place in heck
I think of the ecstatic thrill
When I sank my fangs into a man's neck

I think of the day I was reborn
Into darkness and into death
I recall watching my last dawn
I remember the pain as i gave my last breath

This was before my wedding day
I recall how with joy my bride did cry
But my thirst would not keep at bay
As we lay in our bed i drank her dry

I go through all the victims i drained
To diminish my terrible thirst
I remember the pleas, how they Struggled in vain
Each death taxed me more then the first

I think over my life, and the like
As i wait for the first light of day
Hoping some understanding will strike
Before the wind blows my ashes away.
