Honestly?
Do you ever miss me?
Ever any at all?
What about our late night talks
In the days you used to call?
Or even just the simple things
Like my smile, laugh, or touch -
All of the things you used to say
You loved about me so much.
I see the longing in your eyes
When I catch that passing glance.
So why not admit that you do miss me
And give a friendship that chance?
That's the thing I just can't understand -
Walking by me every day...
I see the expression in your face -
Filled with so much to say.
But even those times when you've come so close,
Those words you still choose to hide.
Do you really not miss me any at all,
Even that trust to in me confide?
Honestly?
How can you just so easily forget
After everything we've both been through?
How can you just ignore those moments
When I was always there for you?
How'd we wind up here at this place
Where the tables now seem to be turned?
For wasn't it always your heart
That after my presence it so yearned?
But now it's as if I'm the only one fighting,
Trying to revive this ember.
How can you really give up on what's left?
Do you really not want to remember?
Maybe it's just that it's better to forget,
Trading in true feeling for a dream.
But if you would just wake to reality,
You'd see there's more hope than may seem...
