Falling

by Samantha Compton   Mar 8, 2006

We all cry out for just one thing:
Comfort and leisure
But one day these will turn the tides
The world become a blur

Already it is happening
In the minds and hearts of kids,
Closing off anything good,
Any happiness or bliss

Only bitter hostility remains
Toward things that can't be changed
And only temporary seemed content
Their feelings have explained.

Empty lives of modern souls
Who's passion for the world
Will leave them zombies one day soon
Slaving boys and girls

They will live just to make a buck
Not caring if they do
Destroy the people in the process
Making things brand new

They run right over everyone,
A pawn in a larger game,
The devil's playing piece is found,
Inside your heart he came.

The generation is steeply declining
They loose their way daily.
They turn there corrupt vision
From heaven to reality.

We are steadily falling
Out of grace's reach,
Can we come back, or are we doomed
For habits that we teach?

Because if something does not change,
Then men can never heal
From all the pain that's self inflicted
And hostility we feel.

I do not understand why no-one has commented on this. Been waiting ages to find a poem on here really follows the same kind of vein and message that I try to give with mine, a really excellent piece of work. Very true as well, if only through our words we could say we changed something eh? Keep up the good work, just keep sending out the message and maybe one day if enough people adhere the message then maybe some souls will be saved. Depends on what you believe in... :) Nice one anyway dude x
